Maya Eventov

Maya Eventov grew up in Leningrad, Russia and greatly influenced by the post-impressionists and Russian Avant-Garde. Matisse and Gauguin affected her interpretation of Colour while Rodchenko and Malevich influenced her sense of balance and composition.
From the age of 6 onwards, Eventov studied art in one form or another. She graduated in 1987 with a master's degree in graphic design and began working as an illustrator for children's books.
In the early 1990's she immigrated to Canada. Here she found and immediate appreciation for her artwork. Presently she resides in Toronto with her family. She continues to travel, finding inspiration from around the world. Her work is represented in galleries throughout Canada, Great Britain, and USA.
