Linny D. Vine's distinctive contemporary paintings are known for their joyful energy. Cherry blossoms in full bloom, warm curving paths that invite exploration, each building and tree alive with it's own special personality. The hour of day and the time of season both celebrated at their fullest and most colorful. Linny's inspiration is the visual world, it's beautiful rhythmic patterns of light and colour as well as her intrigue in the discovery of unusual in the usual. She combines these inspirations with her richly imaginative narration to create paintings that dance with life and joy.
Linny's past career as goldsmith plus her experience in garden design and commercial photography contribute to the original perspective and strong design of her work. Whether Linny is painting en plein air or in studio, with oil or with acrylic, her expressive brush work and unique vision of our world combine to create paintings that celebrate the wonderful character and joyous imperfections of life.
Linny's paintings are treasured in corporate and private collections across the USA, Canada and Europe. Over the years, Linny has been represented in galleries across Canada and has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions. Linny was born in Saskatchewan, grew up in and around Vancouver, and has lived in Victoria since 1992.
