Louise Larouche is born in Jonquière, Saguenay, Province of Quebec in 1957.Very young, she has been seduced by theLaurentides Provincial Park's mountains, evergreens and lakes, between Chicoutimi and Quebec City. Park that she has crossed over and over during her childhood with her parents. She was fascinated by the different tones and colors, forms and compositions and lights of the changing seasons. She is trying to recreate in her work these wonderful atmospheres.

Early appealed by art, she strarted oil painting at age 13 and took painting lessons for 8 years with Thérèse Morency at that time well known teacher and artist of l’École des Beaux-arts de Montréal.
Much later, she joined Denise Belisle Studio for 4 years to improve and develop her art.
In 2001, she started giving painting lessons at l'Atelier des arts visuels of Boucherville on the soutshore of Montreal.

During the period between age 21 and 40 years old, she painted for her pleasure only, exploring different approaches and medium. Busy that she was in developping a career in human resources, obtaining a university degree in Industrial relations, founding a family (2 daughters) and raising her children.
In 1997, her schedule was smooth enough to allow her to work full time with her art.
She now resides with her family in the Outaouais region, close to the National Capital.

Her art is the result of a combination of many influences reflecting her personal vision and the experience of her surroundings. Most importantly, her art conveys the deep feelings that nature awakens in her soul. The atmosphere created by her brush is at times surreal.

The stillness comes to life with her strokes and impetuous movement. Forms, shapes, lights and shadows embrace to finally produce intricate spaces. Through the use of vibrant colors her decisive strokes merge to create a unique window on nature. With time, the contrasts become bolder, the colors richer – luminosity emerges!

Larouche lets her inspiration flow freely, offering paintings that exude warmth.
She draws from the rugged beauty of nature from the undergrowth to the lakes, the rivers and the deep forests of Quebec, Ontario and Western Canada.
