ARTIST’S STATEMENT
“When I was a young man (eighteen to be precise) the one thing I wanted in life, was to be an artist. My father persuaded me not to pursue art,(which he thought was not a secure
profession) and so convinced me to become an architect, with the “clincher”--“You can do your art in your spare time” As any one older than thirty should know, when you are married with a career, kids, a mortage etc, there is no such thing as “spare
time” At the age of sixty-three I found spare time, and have been painting ever since.Nothing in the world makes me happier than to take my sketch book and pencils/pens and my folding stool and to climb up (or part way up) a mountain, and sketch outdoors
and make my teenage dream to be an artist, come true.”
