Bob and Lloyd are twin brothers, living a reclusive lifestyle with their parents in the Cariboo region in British Columbia's Interior. Both are completely self taught artists who paint subjects from their imaginations, directly on to masonite
board.
They generally work in small sizes with the board lying flat on a table, rather than using a typical artist's easel. Lloyd may start a painting at the top and meticulously work his way down in fine detail without a sketch. At times one
brother might add some more details to the other's painting, thereby working in close conjuction with each other. A small painting can take up to four days to complete.
Besides living off the land, growing vegetables and taking care of their 20
cats, painting is all they do. They paint for the sheer love of it, and for the pleasure it brings to others who are fortunate to enjoy their finely crafted work.
