Ron Hedrick was born in Vancouver in 1942 and has always lived in British Columbia.
He had his first art instruction in 1968, from Karl Wood, an eminent western Canadian artist.
Hedrick enjoyed painting as a hobby
until relocating to a lakeside cabin at Paul Lake near Kamloops, B.C. in 1981.
The beauty of the area inspired him to make painting a vocation.
He joined the Kamloops chapter of the Federation of Canadian Artists
in 1982 and frequented the local library to study art.
A year later, he had his first successful show at a gallery in Kamloops.
Since then, his art has been displayed in several prominent galleries in Canada and
the United States.
Hedrick lives in Mission, B.C. with his wife and daughter.
He conducts weekly classes in his studio and paints the landscapes and nostalgic scenery that he has become famous for.

Biography
This modern day, romantic impressionist artist, was born in Vancouver in 1942 and has always lived in British Columbia.
He didn't take a serious interest in art until he was in his thirties. While living in a lakeside cabin at Paul Lake, near Kamloops, the beauty of the area inspired him to such a degree that he suddenly realized that this was his calling and he devoted himself to making painting his vocation.
He had his first art instruction in 1968, from Karl Wood, an eminent western Canadian artist. He continued to explore and experiment on his own, taking the occassional workshop including one by Ron Lucas, who became one of Hedrick's greatest mentors. Lucas, who know works for Steven Spielberg, shared Hedrick's admiration for several Russion artists. The work of the Group of Seven and the French Impressionists also played a strong part in influencing Hedrick's style.
He joined the Kamploops chapter of the Federation of Canadian Artists in 1982 and frequented the local library to study art. A year later, he had his first successful show at a gallery in Kamloops. Since then, he has had numberous successful exhibtions and his art has been displayed in several prominent galleries in Canada and the United States.
His art has been featured in a number of newspapers and magazines, including MAGAZIN'ART and he has been honoured with awards. His work was selected for the Queen's visit to Calgary in 1992. Hedrick lives with his wife and daughter and teaches in Mission.
