Sharon Danhelka comes from a family with successful artists on bothher mother's and father's sides, and at an early age she was already winning awards and attention with her talent, and she knew that one day she too would be an artist. But life has lots
of unexpected twists and turns along the way, and being a Renaissance woman, there were many challenging and lucrative opportunities for her to earn a living, and being astarving artist didn't hold much appeal for someone who wanted to travel and see the
world. But no matter what she did or where she travelled to, she always returned to her painting, for whenever she didn't paint for any length of time her soul was out of balance and she became ill.Eventually, she learned how to balance her need to
express her creativity and her need to use her business accumen and her PR skills.
As an artist she found herself drawn to the the fascinating subject of portraiture, seeing beauty in the old and the young. She experimented in all mediums and
found that some mediums worked better than others depending on the subjects, and pastel remains her favorite for portraits while pen and w/c are best for travelling, but for serious landscapes and street scenes, oils and acrylics win every time.Although
she is mainly self-taught, she has taken some workshops from excellent artists who inspired her to explore new ways of expressing her painting.
Sharon describes her work as romantic impressionist but her portraits, for which she is well known,
are romantic realist. She has illustrated a children's book and had some of her paintings published intolimited edition cards, two of which promptly sold out.
She is an active member of CIPA, ASPA, and the FCA.Her paintings are ion private
collections in Europe, Asia and N.A.
